An update to our valued guests (posted April 6, 2020)

Just a note that we are still working to plan some amazing spring and summer events. We’ve been using this down time to spruce up the look of our facility and we look forward to welcoming you back to the refreshed club when it is safe to reopen.

In the meantime, thank you to all those who have been involved in helping our community during this pandemic, especially those working the front lines including nurses, doctors, hospital staff, grocery store staff, food manufactures, trucking companies, to name just a few. There are many more who have helped in a variety of ways and we are grateful.

We feel based on today’s information that it is in the best interest of our staff and guests to close Oasis to do our part to help reduce the risk of COVID-19 spreading. Oasis is not a place where social distancing can work, so we hope you will visit us again when we are able to reopen safely.

A message to our guests (posted March 13, 2020),

With growing global concerns around COVID-19 (“coronavirus”), we wanted to provide you with an update on our procedures, and how we are working to keep Oasis a safe space for our guests and staff.

We are committed to the safety and well-being of our guests and staff and are taking every precaution to ensure Oasis continues to be the place our community needs it to be. While the Public Health Agency of Canada has assessed the current public health risk associated with coronavirus as low for the general population, we continue to monitor for developments closely.

During this time, we have put together some additional measures to support the safety, health and well-being of all guests and staff:

Oasis Aqualounge uses a quaternary cleaning solution that has been listed by the W.H.O (World Health Organization) and the C.D.C (Centre for Disease Control and Prevention) as effective at killing the Corona virus—this is the same sanitizer that Oasis has been using for many years. In addition to this we’ve added a new product called BIOXY-H that produces hydrogen peroxide for a period of 12 hours after its application to a surface to ensure sanitary conditions for a prolonged period. Oasis Aqualounge is applying Bioxy-H to all of its heavily touched surfaces such as all play areas, handrails, doorknobs, and non-food related preparation surfaces three times daily, on top of increased regular cleaning, to enhance our regular cleaning throughout the club.

We are requesting any staff members who have any symptoms of illness to remain at home to reduce the chance of transmission through staff. Employees working are expected to keep an extra high standard for cleanliness and hygiene, such as extra hand washing and use of hygienic practices such as glove use where necessary. 

We would also like to encourage any guests who have travelled recently or have experienced any symptoms of illness including but not limited to a cough, sore throat, congestion, respiratory issues, fever or body aches to refrain from visiting, so that we can continue to work to offer a comfortable experience for everyone. Anyone displaying any visible signs of illness will be denied entry, or asked to leave.

We have also removed all shared food such as bar snacks (Pretzels, jujubes, chocolates, etc..) from the club.

In addition to these measures, we are preemptively cutting our capacity by more than half, and limiting attendance to 140 in an effort to limit associated risks.

We will continue to monitor the situation closely and act based on the most recent information as recommended by Health Canada, and we thank you for your patience and consideration as valued members of our community. Keep checking back here for the latest information.
