Pride Toronto Press Conference Inside Oasis Aqualounge

On Tuesday May 3rd, Oasis Aqualounge hosted  Pride Toronto, who presented a press conference to unveil the exciting, line up of Pride festivities, starting in June of this year.

The press conference also served to commemorate the 35th anniversary of the bathhouse raids. Oasis Aqualounge was chosen as the location for this press conference as it was one of sites of the raids, dating back to when the building was called Club Toronto.  Over the 5 past years, Oasis Aqualounge has grown to become the largest on-premise sex club in Ontario. While Oasis Aqualounge caters mainly to straight couples, it was an honor to join Pride Toronto, in remembering the history and struggles of bathhouse culture.

Highlights of the morning included a presentation by Executive Director of Pride Mathieu Chantelois,  introductions by Scott Mullin, Vice President of Community Relations, TD Bank (Platinum Pride sponsor) and a playful ‘towel boy’ performance on stage,  in the Oasis Ballroom. Marketing Director Fatima Mechtab  and the Oasis AquaFlirts were on hand to provide tours and offering a delicious selection of rainbow-colored mocktails. The press conference welcomed over 60 guests and city-wide media in attendance.

Oasis Aqualounge will be celebrating Pride with a over a week of themed events and will be joining in the annual Pride Parade on Sunday July 3rd.
