Oasis AquaFlirts at SLUTWALK 2016

The Oasis AquaFlirts  joined the SLUTWALK event on Saturday August 6th, marching in solidarity and calling for an end to rape culture.  SLUTWALK originated in Toronto in  April 2011 and has since become a global march.  This rally welcomes people of all genders  to reclaim the word ‘slut,’ to end victim blaming in sexual assault cases and to be empowered by their dress and sexuality.

Oasis Aqualounge believes in providing women and their partners a safe space to express their sexuality and their bodies. We strive to create an atmosphere that is liberal and non-judgmental and a venue that  is very strict on consent.  We embrace the ‘radical’ notion that women and people can dress in whatever way that pleases them without fear of sexual assault and/or harassment. Sadly, we understand that that such violence still occurs  and thus, events like SLUTWALK are important to support, to help carry the message.

The AquaFlirts are a team of sex/body-positive and liberal-minded individuals that believe in freely expressing their sexuality. They were excited to participate and to fight against sexism and sexual violence. Check out their photos below:
