On Thursday, June 23rd, Marketing Director/Event Producer, Fatima Mechtab, presented at the 38th Annual Guelph Sexuality Conference. The theme of this year’s conference was ‘Pleasure,’ and Fatima developed a topic entitled ‘Inclusivity & Pleasure-Barriers, Challenges & Rewards Inside Oasis Aqualounge.’ This presentation aimed to address the broad concept of inclusivity as relates to a business such as Oasis Aqualounge. It posed such questions as: how does a business strive to be inclusive when faced with such issues of accessibility, and how can a business maintain the needs of its core demographic while expanding to include other identities and interests?

This talk was delivered at Rozanski Hall inside Guelph University. Other sex-positive community members and educators were also present, including Carlyle Jansen and Dr. Jessica O’Reilly. The presentation was 75 minutes in length, which included a section for Q & A. A diverse group of attendees was present and engaged the speaker with interesting and challenging questions. The conference provided a wonderful opportunity to discuss the progress of Oasis Aqualounge in terms of how inclusive the business has become over the past 5 years.
We look forward to presenting again and want to thank the organizers for allowing Oasis Aqualounge to be a part of this year’s conference.

Oasis AquaFlirts Celebrate World Naked Bike Ride 2016
Saturday June 11th marked the annual World Naked Bike Ride in Toronto. This ride is a peaceful, fun-loving protest against oil dependency and urban pollution. It also promotes safe bike riding and alternative forms of transportation. The Oasis AquaFlirts took full advantage of the beautiful, sunny weather and rode down from Oasis Aqualounge to Coronation Park to engage in socializing, body painting and spreading the word about the club.
This is the 3rd year that Oasis Aqualounge has participated in the ride. The event drew hundreds of participants and it seems to grow more vibrant, colorful and even more naked every year! We want to thank guests and friends of the club who joined us during the ride, making it a beautiful, community tradition and a unique way to spend a Saturday afternoon.

In Bed at Trinity Bellwood’s with the Oasis AquaFlirts on May 22nd
On Sunday May 22nd, the spacious park on Queen St. West-Trinity Bellwood’s Park-hosted their 3rd Annual Bed In event. This gathering celebrated community spirit, sustainable living and provided a chance for people to picnic together on the grass under the beautiful Sunday sunshine. The 3rd Annual Bed In started the afternoon off with a free yoga class and continued the day with live music, a drum circle and even an art station with attendees could help design a large mural.
The Oasis AquaFlirts were in attendance, socializing and spreading the word about our clothing-optional, sexually liberated environment. Coupons were provided to those who are interested in checking out the club for the first time and the AquaFlirts were on hand to answer any questions about our exciting upcoming summer events. They had a chance to frolick in the sun, make new friends and kiss lovers on the cheek.
Stay tuned for more AquaFlirt sightings this summer at such summer event such NXNE, World Naked Bike Ride and Pride 2016. Keep your eyes out for bright aqua tank tops and large, welcoming smiles. Their happiness is contagious and once you visit Oasis Aqualounge, you will understand why!
