After Dark Nuit Blanche Tribute

The Oasis Marketing Team was out in full force this Saturday for Toronto’s Nuit Blanche, even though Oasis wasn’t officially on the map we decided to participate anyway by making our own art installation…in the front yard of the club! Marketing Coordinator Holly was the creative mind behind the project with ample help from Oasis marketing gurus Bijioux and Miss F. It was a labour of love, not too mention some sweat and blood (nothing a band-aid couldn’t fix) to get this installation rigged in time for the 7pm (sun down) opening of Nuit Blanche.

The concept was an interactive display, people passing by were encouraged to paint a “sex positive” message on the mural.  Above the mural were large man/woman symbols reflecting that Oasis is a club for both men and women to enjoy. Crowds gathered to watch, paint or gawk at the “art piece” throughout the night.  Many enjoyed participating by painting and we actually ran out of paintbrushes for people at times, but that didn’t stop anyone from making friends and sharing. It was really cool to see the almost blank canvas become completely covered with the sex positive “graffiti” over the course of the night and who enthusiastic the crowds were.

Inside the club the artistic vision continued, this time with human canvasses.  Melissa Moffat returned to Oasis to share her special technique of painting…with her boobs!  After a sexy warm up to strip tease Melissa coaxed Marketing Coordinator Holly onto the dance floor to volunteer. After the paint was applied to both their nipples, both ladies rubbed, pressed, and wiggled their boobs all over the canvas hanging on the wall.  The appreciative crowd watched attentively and soon enough a few more ladies couldn’t resist and next thing you knew the paint was flying everywhere!

Upstairs in the red bar Infinite Body Arts returned, this time with a DIY Body Painting demo for couples. Couples had a blast painting and decorating each other stencils, glitter, etc.  We look forward to their next event at Oasis, the ever-so-popular GLOW 3: The Enchanted Forest, Saturday January 25, 2014.

Amy Andersen’s Porn Star Tryouts & Kama Sutra

Tuesday September 10 & Saturday September 14, 2013

Amy Andersen hosted the first ever Porn Star Tryouts at Oasis on Tuesday. A very eager crowd gathered at the club anxiously waiting to meet and perform for Amy. The contestants had three rounds of “exercises” to complete before the panel of judges. A series of fun and flirty questions were asked to get everyone warmed up and then the “tryouts” kicked into overdrive! Each participant quickly became very friendly with each other as everyone was trying their hardest to out do the other, it was quite a show! We can’t wait for the next round on Tuesday October 8 as Amy hosts the Porn Star Finals.

During Saturday afternoon Miss F hosted a fundraiser for the Rose Centre for Young Adults with Disabilities. The famous Oasis Kissing Booth was resurrected poolside with many guests who just couldn’t wait to pucker up for such a great cause. The silent auction table indoors had a lot of action happening too, in total close to $500 dollars was raised for this amazing organization. Special thanks to Miss F for all of her hard work making such a successful event go off without a hitch.

In the evening Oasis was transformed into a Sultan’s Tent for the Kama Sutra event on Saturday complete with Indian inspired fabrics draping the walls and on site henna artist Bijioux. Special features for the evening included authentic belly dancer Aviva the Mirage and Indian inspired burlesque acts by Oasis newcomer DD Star and everyone’s sweet heart Esther De Ville. The exotic sounds, seductive glaces and hypnotic hip motions of each dancer lured more and more guests to the dance floor. A very appreciative audience erupted with applause after each routine and then quickly scattered to perform some Kama Sutra of their own upstairs. Special thank you to Leandra, & Esther for all your hard work in making this event spectacular.

Around the World Burlesque

It was a star studded cast from Great Canadian Burlesque and guests this Saturday at the club.  Guests loved the “globetrotting” theme as the first show kicked off “the tour” with an epic performance by El Torro dressed as Jack Sparrow from Pirates of the Caribbean.  You have to get around the world somehow, so why not on a pirate ship? The “first stop” was in Egypt, with a provocative belly dance by the jewel of the Nile herself Mizzy Trasher. Next we had another belly dance by Gigi Vanilla to the song “Little Egypt” representing the popularity of belly dance in America in the late 1950’s.  After a brief “layover” we traveled to the red bar upstairs for the second midnight show.  Marilyn St.Evans started the set with a lively traditional Irish dance, this really got the attention of guests playing in the adjacent rooms. More and more people started to filter into the lounge just to see what all the commotion was about!  Next we landed in France where performer Esther De Ville sauntered onto the stage dressed in a beret, smoking a (fake) cigarette, clutching a baguette and a bottle of wine under her arm.  The last stop on the tour was Spain, where Fionna Flauntit dazzled the crowd with a flamenco inspired act complete with a light up head dress! Special thanks to our “jet legged” host Janus for taking us on a burlesque journey around the world in just one night.

Also a huge thank you goes out to all the sponsors, performers and attendees of Ladies Night Out on Sunday September 8. Oasis guests loved the fashion show by Rosie the Rebel/Loveless, illusionist Rob Testa, boylesquers James and the Ginat Pastie, El Torro and Willie Wonder and fire performer Eto.  We can’t wait to have the ladies from Hanky Panky Home Parties & Arbonne Spa Products back as well.  Good friends, fun & food (those chocolate covered strawberries and cookies were devoured), stay tuned for the next Ladies Night Out.
